My Light Along The Way

April 27, 2021 Sabrina MannoWhims & WordsLeave a Comment on My Light Along The Way

April 2021 Poem-A-Day Challenge, Day 27 We all have something (or someone) that we believe makes a difference in our lives. A guiding light, if you will, that illuminates our path through the darkness and somehow makes our merriest moments…

One of my favorite Game of Thrones commentators, Erik Kain, recently launched a newsletter called “Diabolical.” He writes for Forbes, covering video games, entertainment, and culture, and seems like a super cool guy. I always enjoy reading his take on…

The Soundtrack That Saved Me From 2020

Whenever my mind needs a rest, I escape into music, listening, contemplating, writing about it. It is a key ingredient in the recipe of my life, and one that keeps me sane(r) and lifts my spirit on the heaviest of…

Josh Groban: A Classic Christmas Chestnut

December 22, 2020 Sabrina MannoTitles & TunesLeave a Comment on Josh Groban: A Classic Christmas Chestnut

Say what you will about Josh Groban, but the man can sing. An angelic voice if ever I’ve heard one and that’s at the best of times. Put an ageless Christmas carol into his capable hands, though, and it’s like…

The Harmony Of Illusions

In all the craziness over the past few weeks I never got a chance to write about Josh Groban’s new album, Harmony. Wait, wait, before anyone rolls their eyes and deletes this post, I promise not to gush over the…

“The traditions we create now will be the memories our children cherish in the future.” — Unknown I came across the above quote last night and even though I could find no attribution I’m going to use it anyway because…

It could have been worse but for his music, his voice, his presence. I wrote that line during a freewriting assignment in the writing class I took back in July. The professor asked us to work from the prompt “It…

Salvation sometimes comes in the unlikeliest of places. For me, it’s almost always Josh (and all genres of music), books/TV shows (fantasy and historical fiction are my go-tos right now), cooking/baking, writing, coffee and wine, my husband. Hell, even my…

T-Rex

I’ve been flying on an emotional high for the past two days. On Saturday, Josh Groban live-streamed his first-ever “virtual” concert for fans, and it was everything I had hoped it would be: heartfelt, emotional, and therapeutic. He grabbed his…

About This Site

This blog isn’t solely about parenting. Yes, I’m a stay-at-home mom but I wear many other hats: wife, sister, daughter, chef, baker, chauffer, personal shopper, party planner, cleaning lady, customer service and marketing manager for a local insurance agency, the list is endless. I live so much in my own head and writing is my therapy. I’ve been craving an open, honest, and nonjudgmental outlet for those thoughts, and this blog is it. Why not just keep a journal? Because knowing there are other moms out there going through my same experiences lifts my spirits and motivates me to stay strong. And if I can help and maybe even inspire these women or make them laugh while fulfilling my dream, well, then, that’s a wonderful thing!
