April 2021 Poem-A-Day Challenge, Day 15
I really wanted to title this post “Same Sh*t, Different Day,” but then it wouldn’t fit with the prompt: Take the phrase “(blank) Story,” replace the blank with a word or phrase, and make that the title of your poem.
Same Old Story
I woke up in a mood today
I’m really not sure why
Perhaps it’s just the same old sh*t
Another Groundhog’s Day to cry
I do not feel like parenting
I do not want to cook
I’m sick and tired of laundering
And cleaning up kid gook
I want to crawl into a nook
Sit in silence and in peace
Drink my coffee, do my writing
Will this BS never cease?
I’m finished with this poem now
Hope you all can comprehend
I’m dramatic, but I’m human
And my tantrum, that’s the end
