Reawakening

Pumpkins at Harvest-Time

Oh, Autumn, how I love thee.

Whenever October rolls around something magical happens to me … the clean, crisp air; the kaleidoscope of colors; the aromas of pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and harvest-time; the early sunsets and ancient evenings; the giddy anticipation of the approaching holiday season. It’s like I’ve awoken from a deep, dark slumber, energized and ready to start my days with happy heart, enlightened mind, and soothed soul. And coffee, always coffee.

Reawakening

As the amber leaves
Let go their boughs
And take wing
Upon the trusted arms
Of Autumn’s gusty gales
She vowed to harvest
The bounty of her
Crippling insecurities
And cast them off
Into the night sky’s
Velvety embrace
… to begin anew
