Pearl

We all need a protector of our souls; this one’s for mine.

Pearl

Eroded by a life’s full work
Of unassuming storms
I humbly chose to bury Her
Beneath the rushing wave-washed shores
A battered husk Her sole protection
For the fragile bud inside
The deepest, truest part of Her
She let lie in wait ’til wise
Until His hands, they rescued Her
A harvest pure as gold
He dusted off the sands of time
Unearthed a pearl of old
Unpolished, bare, and faded
All others waltzed on by
Only He could see Her beauty
Love and acceptance glazed His eye
He coaxed Her out of hiding
Commingled souls began to stir
And She realized from this day on
No storm could ever touch Her

  1. OK so this is my favorite one so far! There is some things so beautiful about this protection but also so haunting in the you before it. It speaks to life phases and transitions of yourself when you are with the right person. This is so beautiful.
