Two things to know about me: I adore the written word (obviously, or we wouldn’t be here together on this blog); and I am obsessed with lists; I even write lists for my lists. So, I decided to put the…

I love the smell of books. It’s a bit of an obsession, really, and one I’ve had for as far back as I can remember. It doesn’t end at books, either. Magazines, newspapers, pamphlets, day planners, catalogs, you name it.…

I’m a big believer in signs these days. So, when I came across a recent article about a stay-at-home mom who has no desire to return to her managing editor roots because she believes her career was to raise her…

Blather, rinse, repeat. It’s been three months since I posted to this blog. Geez, where the heck did that time go? Back then I was dreading the summer. Not only because I hate the stifling heat and humidity (I’m a…

He Who Raises Me Up

I’ve talked about my past struggles (outside of parenting) on this blog before—dark days that felt hopeless and lonely and never-ending. One of those times was at the beginning of 2011, following a rugged, painful breakup and a bleak, tear-filled…

On this Mother’s Day, I wanted to take a moment to say “thank you” to the beautiful, kind, caring, and selfless woman who gave me life. I’ve always known that my mom—whom I endearingly call “Woman”—was a quiet rockstar. I…

About This Site

This blog isn’t solely about parenting. Yes, I’m a stay-at-home mom but I wear many other hats: wife, sister, daughter, chef, baker, chauffer, personal shopper, party planner, cleaning lady, customer service and marketing manager for a local insurance agency, the list is endless. I live so much in my own head and writing is my therapy. I’ve been craving an open, honest, and nonjudgmental outlet for those thoughts, and this blog is it. Why not just keep a journal? Because knowing there are other moms out there going through my same experiences lifts my spirits and motivates me to stay strong. And if I can help and maybe even inspire these women or make them laugh while fulfilling my dream, well, then, that’s a wonderful thing!
