“Poverty, starvation and drunkenness are ugly subjects to choose. We all admit these things exist. But one doesn’t write about them.” (Teacher) “What does one write about?” (Child) “One delves into the imagination and finds beauty there. The writer, like…

The Leaves Will Fall Again

Music is a godsend. It truly boggles my mind how the “powers that be” want to banish and stop funding the arts because without them oh how sad the world would be (even more than normal). Not a day goes…

Today I felt like crying. I suppose it was only a matter of time before that feeling set in. What triggered it, you ask? I had just texted my parents, brother, and sister about setting up a teleconference call for…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! ☘️  In keeping with my “positively happy” theme, I thought it would be fun to write a “you know you’re a parent when” blog based on some of my experiences. A little levity in this…

If there’s one silver lining to being quarantined in our house, it’s that it forced us to slow down. After all, there’s only so much we can do within the confines of these four walls. And I’m happy to report…

Since Lent began more than two weeks ago, I’ve been sitting at this computer fine-tuning a blog post about positivity and silver linings. You know, as part of my Lenten sacrifice. But who the hell am I kidding? It felt…

Loneliness, solidarity, beauty

Sometimes parenting can be the loneliest existence. You wouldn’t think so what with the constant activity that comes with having children. But when the chaos dies down and you have a moment to breathe, you look around and realize you’re…

About This Site

This blog isn’t solely about parenting. Yes, I’m a stay-at-home mom but I wear many other hats: wife, sister, daughter, chef, baker, chauffer, personal shopper, party planner, cleaning lady, customer service and marketing manager for a local insurance agency, the list is endless. I live so much in my own head and writing is my therapy. I’ve been craving an open, honest, and nonjudgmental outlet for those thoughts, and this blog is it. Why not just keep a journal? Because knowing there are other moms out there going through my same experiences lifts my spirits and motivates me to stay strong. And if I can help and maybe even inspire these women or make them laugh while fulfilling my dream, well, then, that’s a wonderful thing!
