I’m thankful for a lot of things this holiday season.
I’m thankful for my amazing and gorgeous children, whom I love more than anything in the whole world; my dearest family and friends, all of whom have shaped me into the woman I am today; my lovely in-laws, who from day 1 have treated me like one of their own; my beautiful home; and my enduring health. I could sit here and write a book about my bountiful blessings.
But the one thing I’m most thankful for—today and every day–is my husband. He is my rock, my soulmate, my partner in crime. Without him, I wouldn’t even have this beautiful life. I wouldn’t have anything. It’s funny because I, like so many girls before me, grew up wanting my very own Prince Charming. But as the years wore on, I began to worry that it wasn’t in God’s plan for me. He put me on a long, arduous path filled with loneliness, depression, pain, and heartache. Lots and lots of heartache. And yet, I will forever be grateful for that path because it led me here. If I hadn’t experienced those hardships, I never would have recognized the magnificent gift that is my husband. I don’t say it enough, but I adore him. I idolize him. I revere him.
He is the handsomest, smartest, funniest, kindest, most selfless person I’ve ever known. He is my saving grace. He is my heart and soul. He is my Saint Nick.
I’m thankful for him every single day, as a husband, as a father, as a man.
I love you, honey.
