Harvest Moon

Harvest Moon, Sept. 20, 2021

On my morning run yesterday I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Harvest Moon (thank you, husband, for being on top of these things and keeping me informed), which, of course, inspired me. I saved this poem for today, though, because it marks the first day of Autumn and the start of my most favorite time of year!! I’m hoping to kick off the season with a bang and a positive outlook … let’s see what shakes out. 😊

Harvest Moon

Break of dawn
A morning run
Around the block
Then back to one
Moonlight guides
Upon the ground
Heed the clock
It’s almost round
Tick tock, tick tock
Glimpse of peach
Betwixt the trees
Sinking fast
Amidst the breeze
End of summer
Start of fall
Harvest moon
Salute us all
Welcome, Autumn
Welcome
