Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Brie and I’m a relative newbie to this whole world of online blogging. After about 13 years of working as an editor for various publications in New York City, I gave up my professional career to stay home with my two beautiful children. While I enjoy being a mom (mostly), the trials and tribulations that these two human beings put me through daily are enough to test the patience of a saint! And I am no saint.
I’ve spent the past six-plus years struggling to find my way back to the autonomous, carefree woman I once was. My first step toward that goal came in June 2018, when I took over as president of a local chapter of the International Moms Club. I was only in that role for one year (that’s the typical turnaround time for clubs like this) but it introduced me to many wonderful moms, allowed me to flex my professional and creative muscles, and gave me a whole new purpose! Most importantly, though, it motivated me to pursue my true dream: starting this blog.
I love to write, and I love to make people laugh, so that’s why I’m here. Full disclosure: I tend to be too open, a little (OK, a lot) sarcastic, and honest to a fault. I love my kids to the moon and back, but they drive me crazy and I’m not afraid to admit it or write about it. If that’s OK with you, I hope we’ll become the best of friends! If not, that’s OK too and no hard feelings.
Other topics on which I love to opine include but are not limited to: home life, marriage, the loss of a social life, cooking/baking/recipes, reading and books (mostly fiction), music and Josh Groban (I’m a little obsessed), Game of Thrones, Walt Disney World (and travel in general), solitary trees, the season of Fall, anything and everything related to the holiday season, family traditions, and my amazing and handsome husband (my soulmate and rock).
If you’ve read this far, thanks so much for visiting my page! I’m a huge believer in communication, so drop me a line with any comments and suggestions on what you read here. I would love to chat with you!
